EsatInformer in a nutshell
Information is everything in the war against Spam.
ESATInformer sends a daily report to the administrator and each
user with information about the messages blocked by XWall. Install
ESATInformer as a daily task on your mail server. It will automatically
generate simple reports from XWall statistics files and send them
to each user via email.
Why ESATInformer
Over a thousand of Tech support call gave me a clear
picture. XWall users were doing a great job fighting
Spam
To most effective you need to know what you're up against and
need to be able to fight efficient. XWall has all the tools for
the war on Spam. ESATInformer provides you with knowledge and
a safety net. We ESATInformer shows you every day how effective
XWall is. The User gets informed what messages XWall blocked and
if there is a false positive it can be quickly recovered from
Walls mail archive. The message arrives at the users Outlook in
original form.
The package installs on the XWall server and reports
Spam to the administrator and mailbox owner. The end users receives
an email showing all the Spam subjects received. This is significant
information. With this information you can configure XWall more
aggressive. The chart above may look complex in reality the process
is totally automated. Here is a typical flow example:
-
A
message arrives
-
XWall
adds the message to the archive
-
XWall
determines it's Spam filter is set to discard
-
XWall
makes an entry in the stats
-
XWall
discards the message
-
ESATInformer
processes the XWall statistics file
-
ESATInformer
send a graphical Spam statistic to the administrator
-
ESATInformer
reports all the Spam XWall caught to individual selected users.
-
A
user spots a message he needs
-
The
users click the R button next to the message line
-
ESATInformer
retrieves the message from the XWall archive
-
The
user receives the original message even the reply to works!
-
The
admin receives a report including information to help excluding
the sender
More than meets the eye
Aggressive filtering: ESATInformer sends
selected users a report listing all blocked messages and their
file name in the archive. This opens the door to a new way of
fighting Spam. You can set your action to discard. All messages
are stored in the archive and can be retrieved if needed. Please
note: You must turn on Achieving -> XWall Admin ->view->
options ->logfiles "Keep a copy of all messages"
Example: Calm down your Boss. Send the sales
department, the customer service and the tech support their ESATInformer
report. They see how effective XWall is. They also can spot a
false positives and you can retrieve it out of the archive. Eventually
ESATInformer will do it for you.
Flexible: Not everybody needs a report. ESATInformer
will only send a report to the users on it's userlist. You can
also email Administrator reports to selected users.
Adm. Summary Report via Email
The person(s) listed as Administrators will receive
a summary report as partially shown below. The overall summary
calculates and shows the days mail and Spam totals. A Graph shows
the Spam ratio received by each user. The Report also .Includes
a listing of each users blocked email with subject lines.

User Report via EMail
An example user email messages is shown below. The
"From" and "Subject" columns are self explanatory,
the Storage column shows the archive file name XWall used to store
the original message. This is very important as it lets users
notify you of false positives. It also allows you to forward the
message. Without ESATInformer it's virtually impossible to detect
the false positives.
