Email control beyond Spam filtering

Xwall features a variety of email control features far beyond a regular Spam filter. The features allow you to get a handle on your email flow. ESAT gives you the inside of your email operation. With that knowledge you can make precise adjustments to Xwall and optimize the performance of your entire mail system. Please click on the thumbnails for a larger image.

Xwall SMTP Relay control

1. Restrict relay by IP address: It allows you to open the relay for direct send mail programs inside your firewall like Newsletter mailers, List servers, automated processes like backup status notifications, none conforming system like a Linux box not going through exchange. And you can allows outside relay access for your satellite offices with static IP's

2. Restricting relays by host name.: This option can be used for satellite offices resolving to the same host name.

3. Restricting relay access with username and password: This option maybe a good choice for smaller companies with a few outside sales persons. It's quick and easy to setup. The drawback, you only have one username and password. So you may need to change the setting if a sales person leaves.

4. Restricting relay to authenticated domain users: Xwall can authenticate users on your MS domain via NTLM. Make sure the Xwall service is set to login as a domain users if you choose this option.

Mail Forwarding

Xwall can forward mail to addresses outside your exchange or domain. AOL does have benefits. They have local dialups everywhere. Outside salesman may prefer AOL for that reason. Xwall can forward their email to the AOL account. That allows the salesman to have a regular company address and still get his email. It also should be considered for small satellite offices.

Translate Address

A very handy feature translate sales@yourdomain.com to jdoe@yourdomain.com or even jdoe@yourotherdomain.com. It makes thing easy once John Doe leaves the company.

Virus scan interface

Xwall can interface with most command line virus scanners. Since Xwall does all the work extracting the messages and attachments you can use a simple virus scanner rather than an expensive Exchange server version.

We, Ceratec use F-prot DOS (or command line) for Xwall, Popbeamer and SMTPbeamer . It's cost effective and functions well. The F-prot DOS scanner work well with Xwall and all windows platforms (workstations and servers) You can find more information about F-prot virus scanners at the F-prot Web site

None command line scanner may be used but with less control. Generally any active scanner should be excluded from the Xwall folder and if possible the Temp folder Xwall uses. We have many installation using Norton enterprise without problems.

Transaction log

Xwall keeps a detailed log for all transactions. If you have any question about a particular event you can find the log entries in the daily logs.

Statistical information

Xwall can write statistical CVS files for email and Spam filters, SMTP filters and Virus filter. These files can be loaded in a spreadsheet to analyze. The files can be stores in a folder of your choice. To start writing the stat files in Xwall look under VIEW - OPTIONS - STATISTICS. Stat files are kept in a daily format. A new files is generated every day.

ESAT-Power of Knowledge

You may heard of Email analyzing tools. Most of them fall short of information. ESAT is very different. This Analyzer gets it's information from the Xwall stats. Xwall assembles the messages. So ESAT has access to a lot more information that other Analyzers and it shows. The ESAT package displays who gets what, what is Spam - what's not, which department or user gets how much mail or Spam by the hour, day week. Who send you the most Spam, Who sends mail to former employees. The list goes on. ESAT can show relations within the email flow and more. Simplified online demo charts are available. But better yet upload your stats files and do your own analysis online and instantly. Please refer to the dedicated ESAT pages for more information, instructions and links

Outgoing disclaimer

Xwall can add a disclaimer to every outgoing email. A very welcome option with many companies legal departments. The disclaimer is configurable and easy to change. On request multiple disclaimers are possible.

Email Archiving

Xwall can archive every email incoming and outgoing. Some countries new laws require companies to keep a copy of every email. Xwall allows you to comply with these requirements. With our EASEARCH utility you will be able to search for emails from users, to users, by subject and more.

As you can see you get a lot more than a Spam filter. Xwall and it's add-ons are an incredible value. Try it free today.
